The standard THERMOFLEX™ heat detector connects to a fire alarm system’s input circuit as an initiating device. In heat detectors with Normally Open internal contacts, the contacts will close when the detector operates either on a rate of temperature increase, or if the releasing temperature is reached. In heat detectors with Normally Closed contacts, the contacts will open under the same conditions. The Rate-of-Rise function is recommended in conjunction with sprinkler devices as the detector will initiate and alarm before the waterflow switch.

With its non-metallic diaphragm, the standard detector can operate normally at low temperatures, making it suitable for non-heated or chilled environments including garages and carports.  It is often installed with an addressing module if it is to be annunciated as a specific room or space, e.g. electrical room, garbage compactor, etc.

Single Circuit - Normally Open Contacts

These units are single circuit with normally open contact configuration. They are available with an Aluminum or White finish

Single Circuit - Normally Open, Sealed

Detector with Normally Open contacts, in which the connectivity is modified with pigtail leads that extend through a seal plate, providing enhanced protection against corrosive and moisture-laden environments.

Explosion-proof, Normally Open Contacts

The EWT Series of THERMOFLEX heat detectors for fire alarm systems are Explosion proof, Weather proof, Water-tight and Dust-tight.

Single Circuit - Normally Closed Contacts

These units are single circuit with normally open contact configuration. They are available with an Aluminum or White finish

Single Circuit - Normally Closed, Sealed

Detector with Normally Closed contacts, in which the connectivity is modified with pigtail leads that extend through a seal plate, providing enhanced protection against corrosive and moisture-laden environments.
